And 12 Months Make A Year!

Holy Cow, the babe is ONE! On one hand it seems like just yesterday we were in the delivery room seeing her for the first time...those precious memories are so vivid in my mind. And on the other hand I can hardly remember life before her.

As I look back over the past year I am overwhelmed with such a feeling of accomplishment. I mean, we made it. We overcame obstacles that at the time seemed so big but looking back I can see God's hand at work in it all. We are truly so blessed she is happy, healthy, and all ours!

Here is our last monthly blog. Well, I shouldn't say that I still plan on blogging maybe just not so much based on her months and more on the happenings in our lives :)

Weight: 17 lb 15 oz
She is in the 14th percentile in weight.
Clearly my 10 and 11 month estimations were way off.
She is a tiny little booger!

Length: 29 1/4 inches
She is in the 47th percentile.
We are buying a new car seat this weekend!

Head Circumference: can't remember the measurment
but she is in the 72nd percentile, big ole head she has!

Sizes: She is still mostly wearing clothes labeled 6-12 months and 9 month. I have tried a few 12 month outfits and in all but a few of them she swims in them.

Social: She gave a clear dada for Noah this week, which is fun. I think this is the area I most excited to see her bloom and grow. Bring on the words!

On The Move: She is crawling! She is rather slow and doesn't crawl often. The kid just isn't very motivated, she prefers just to find one toy and lay on her back. She is the most motivated if she is sitting on the floor and I sit down on the other side of the room. She is pulling up on everything, including her crib. We are going to have to shell out some big bucks to buy some crib protectors because she is chewing her crib to bits! Little stinker!

Food: She eats so much and pretty much anything and everything. Which is why I am surprised she has only gained 1.5 lbs since her 9 month appointment. Guess she was just made to be petite :)

Sleep: Still sleeping well at naps and through the night. Thank you Jesus!

Likes: eating, bath time, walks, playing with mommy and daddy, and her new favorite....biting.

Oh yes, I am pretty sure I have that child...the biter. We are working hard to "discipline." When she bites I light flick her mouth, sternly say "NO, NO BITE! THAT HURTS!" And immediately put her down facing the oppisite direction of me. At first I would just flick and sternly say no and she would just laugh and smile at me. But now that I am putting her down she will pout and cry.

Dislike: When she can see mommy and mommy is not holding her, getting her nose wiped. Other than that she is a happy happy happy girl!

Here are some pictures of the past month.

11 months...say what??

PLEASE NOTE: This posting is a little late...like three weeks a little late! I had it all written in March and just kept forgetting to post it. So here it FINALLY is, and next week comes her BIG 1 YEAR POST (tears just thinking about it)
I did go in and add some new info and updates in bold :)

its getting harder and harder to get her to sit still.
As soon as I get her positioned she will flip to her belly and
slide down off the chair. lil' stinker!

Weight: around 18 lbs
Still a tiny one :)

Length: ??? My guess is around 28 inches
I bet at her next appointment (12 months) she will be close to 30 inches and ready for a new carseat.

Head Circumference: ???? No Clue
Her body seems to be finally catching up to her head size!

Sizes: She is mostly wearing clothes labeled 6-12 months and 9 month. Inless she has a huge growth spurt, which lets be honest...isn't her style, I think we will be in these sizes for awhile. She still has a good amount of room to grow into them.

Social: She is finally giving a clear "mum, mum." She uses the same sound for both me and when she wants "more" food. She is also still doing lots of "dada" and "baba." And even more squealing and giggling. If someone is in her vicinty and not paying attention to her she will squeal and happy scream til they engage and make eye contact with her.

On The Move: I am so frustrated. She is so close to crawling, I mean so close. But she has been so close for a while and we just can't quite seem to get it. Luckily, we have a wonderful Physical Therapist who is able to calm me down and walk me off the cliff of irrational fears and worries. One new thing she is doing is she will spin in a circle, moving just her arms.I just keep reminding myself of how far she has come and the progress she has made. She did this same thing with sitting independently. She was so close to doing it for almost to months before she finally did it.
(As of April 10th she is now slowly army crawling to wear she wants to go!)

Food: We are officially out of baby food. We used the portable food pouches because they were so convenient on our mini vacation to Dallas over Spring break but other than that she is eating finger foods and pretty much what ever we have at meals. I love just being able to feed her whatever we are having and being able to go out to eat with out packing her a meal to take.

Sleep: Ahhh-mazing! She is sleeping almost everynight, though the night for 10-11 hours straight. We usually have her in her crib around 8 and she will start to stir in the morning around 7. It's awesome!

Likes: Being held, looking out windows, playing with mommy and daddy, going on walks, pretty much life in general.

Dislike: playing independently. She wants someone down on the ground interacting with her. Little Miss Social Butterfly.

At Bella and Blake's cheer competition. Can not wait to be a crazy cheer mom!

Blakely loved spending the weekend with her cousins Kaylynn and Keegan!
Trying to crawl on top of her toy basket.

What happens when I leave her unattended.

Once again, what happens when you leave her unattended.

Kisses from mommy on Mommy's birthday.

I love the booty up in the air!

The Big Ten (Months)

I can not believe that we are only two short months from Blakely's FIRST BIRTHDAY! It is crazy to think it has almost been a year, yet I feel like she has always been with us. In fact, I started planning her birthday party this week!

This has been a busy month for us...filled with lots a fun, love, learning, and laughter.

Her father makes the same face when I try to take his picture :)

Our Happy, Happy, Happy Girl!
We didn't have an official dr appointment this month but we did have to go to the doctor the week before Valentine's Day because little miss had a cough and I thought she had croup again. Sure enough she Croup and RSV! Poor baby, but she handled it like a champ. She is such a good baby!

Weight: around 17.5 lbs
Still a tiny one :)

Length: ??? My guess is around 28 inches
I bet at her next appointment (12 months) she will be close to 30 inches and ready for a new carseat.

Head Circumference: ???? No Clue
Still big though :)

Sizes: She is still wearing 6 month clothing and she has started wearing 9 month clothing. For the first time in her life, come spring and summer, I am going to get to go shopping for her wardrobe! We have been blessed to have received so much clothing that besides a few outfits here and there I haven't bought her clothes. But, we don't have much in terms of spring and summer clothing. Old Navy is calling my name :)

Social: My kid is a genius! I have taught her to sign "more" when she wants more food at meal time. She was slapping the highchair tray but now she puts her hands together to let me know she needs more. We still haven't gotten a clear MOMMA or truly purposefully DADA but she jibbers and jabbers NON STOP!

On The Move: She is so so so close to crawling. She will go from sitting to hands down in all fours and will rock back and forth. She has figured out that she can scoot on her booty in the tub and moves all over the place in the water.

Food: She is eating so much. I think we are coming to the end the of baby food and transitioning to finger foods. She loves fruits and most veggies but isn't a big meat eater. The past few batches of baby food I made are less pureed and more chunky to get her use to using her teeth and gums to chew her food. She loves finger food: gerber graduate puffs, cooked carrots, skinned grapes, strawberries, and I also usually try to give her little pieces of whatever we are eating.

Sleep: She is sleeping well. Between conference break, snow days, President's Day, and having to to take some days off to cover daycare I have had quite a few days at home with her this month and on these days she has been taking one BIG (2-3 hour) mid day nap instead of a morning and afternoon nap. It has been nice because it gives me a big chunk of time to get things done (or take a nap).

Likes: Peek A Boo is a new favorite!

Dislike: She will SCREAM when her mommy leaves the room!

Check out the crawl position!
Sweet and rare cuddles with momma!

Sawyer loves holding his Baby Blakely!

Snow Day fun with mom and dad, and look at that tongue :)

Improvement: has figured out to keep arms straight.
Goal for next month: get feet moving with it!

WE LOVE YOU BLAKELY MAE WELLS!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Love, Blakely!

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Mommy had the day off and got to spend the day with Blakely at home. Then Daddy came home and hung out with us til Baby bath and bed time. When baby went to bed Mommy and Daddy had a romantic candle lit dinner at home. On Saturday Blakely spent the evening with Nana and Papa while her parents went to dinner and movie. A great time had by all!

I mean, is she not the cutest Valentine EVER!
